About the Event

This year, Friday, 21 March marks a double celebration in South Africa—Human Rights Day and World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD). While we honour the fundamental rights and freedoms of all South Africans, we also shine a spotlight on the rights of persons with Down syndrome and the need for a more inclusive and supportive society.

Join the Movement – WDSD 2025 Activities DSSA and it’s Associations are hosting a series of exciting national events to mark this important day: Rock Your Socks Campaign – Wear your brightest, mismatched socks to start conversations about inclusion and raise awareness for Down syndrome
